
Despite challenges posed by COVID-19, staff and volunteers with Pella Community Ambulance are responding faster than ever. Director Greg Higginbotham says strong response to local EMT classes and a focused effort to add personnel has ambulances leaving their bays faster than the state average. Higginbotham says he’s thankful for the way EMTs and paramedics have been working efficiently despite the uptick in calls due to COVID-19 this past fall and the calls they receive after major snow events and during the colder months of the year.
