With the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine underway across the nation, state, and Warren County, Warren County Health Services Director Jodene DeVault is happy with the way the county has partnered with local companies to help distribute the vaccine. DeVault tells KNIA News the county will administer vaccines themselves, but the quickest way to get it to those in need is to utilize local partners.
“Public health works with local companies to say, how many would you like, how many do you think you can give over the next two weeks. So we allocate based on the plan we work out with them we allocated a number of vaccines to them. We keep some, because some people are used to coming here and they will continue to come here. But our partners have extended hours much beyond what we have, as a lot of our paramedics and EMS employees have full-time jobs somewhere else and then come back here and we want them to be able to access the shot.”
