The Knoxville School Board approved early graduation requests for 22 students at its meeting Monday evening. Superintendent Cassi Pearson says this is an unusually high number, and wishes these students well as they move on from high school.
“Quite a few students, in the COVID experience, are ready to get out of having to wear a mask every day, or being a virtual student. So we had 22 students this year, typically it’s closer to 10. So a little bit higher, but not unexpected. We’re excited for those students to finish their career here at Knoxville High School, earn their diploma, and move on to bigger and better things.”
Friday is the final day of the first semester, and will be the last school day for these 22 students. Hear more from Superintendent Cassi Pearson on today’s Let’s Talk Knoxville.
