The Iowa Legislature began their 2021 session Monday, with newly elected State Representative Brooke Boden joining the Iowa House for the first time serving as the Vice Chair on the State Government Committee, and will be a member of the Human Resources, Ways and Means, RIIF (Rebuild Iowa Infrastructure Fund), and Veterans Affairs Committees. Boden tells KNIA News she is placing a big focus on mental health this session.

“That has been something I’ve talked about all the way through the election process so we will definitely be looking at that. And of course maintaining a strong fiscal budget with COVID-19 and all that we have to do to make sure our resources are well kept but at the same time protecting those within our community and making sure that we help them get some relief for the businesses and the people in our communities.”
