The Indianola Fire Department responded to over 2,400 calls for service in 2020, with many of the calls related to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the fire department, 90% of calls were for emergency medical services, with the remaining 10% of calls for fires, fire alarms, hazardous spills, motor vehicle accidents, and specialized rescues. The Indianola Fire Department responded to 2,390 calls for service at the end of 2019.
