The Indianola School Board discussed concerns brought forth by teachers regarding the online class pages for students and teachers once the full-time schedule resumes next week for elementary school students. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News the administration will continue to work with teachers, and will work to find a way for students who are not in class to still receive an education.

“The intention that was discussed with teachers was to maintain kind of a week-in-a-glance for students that may have to unexpectedly go into quarantine, because those quarantined students will be treated like any other absent students and not join the ranks of remote learners. The main thing will be to look exactly at the time that will be required, what is being expected, and to make sure we are not adding a big duty back on as we take off some duties related to the remote learners.”

Sathoff also said the board received some concerns from parents about the consistency and usability of the class pages, and said the administration needs to continue a dialogue with teachers and parents to work it out.
