Knoxville Hospital & Clinics recently made a donation of $500 to Knoxville Coaches vs. Cancer. Director of Foundation and Public Relations Kevin Stittsworth says it’s a great local cause, and explains how the funds were raised.
“We are proud to support Knoxville Panthers Coaches vs. Cancer. It’s a great event that raises awareness about cancer. What better way to support people in Marion County who are afflicted with cancer, or their loved ones? Then just the research to help find a cure for this disease. This year, our food services team held a bake sale, and employees were able to purchase items, with the proceeds going to the donation, and the hospital matched those proceeds. This is a great collaborative effort from our team at the hospital to support a great local charity.”
The check was presented at a private ceremony Wednesday. The annual Knoxville Coaches vs. Cancer event is one week from today, and donations are still being accepted in monetary form and for the virtual auction.
