Pleasantville’s wrestling team exited the Trojan Duals at home with four victories and just one loss.
The Trojans came out with victories against Chariton, Durant, Lynnville-Sully, and Ogden. Pleasantville had a total of 23 wins by fall, including three from Jacob Hiemstra at 152 lbs, Alex Swanson at 160 lbs, and Dillen Ammons at 170 lbs. Pleasantville also had multiple wrestlers with two wins by fall including Caleb Cook at 126 lbs, Ross Stephens at 160 lbs, Isaac Mann at 182 lbs, Trevor Daggett at 220 lbs, and Matthew Kauffman at heavyweight.
Their only loss Saturday was a 45-34 defeat to Albia. The most wins by fall Pleasantville had in the Trojan Duals was in a 48-36 win against Ogden. In that match, the Trojans got a total of six wins by fall from Hiemstra, Stephens, Ammons, Kauffman, Devon Luing at 120 lbs, and Kitt Lundy at 138 lbs.
Pleasantville will go back to the mats Thursday night for a triangular against Central Decatur and Davis County at Central Decatur High School. The meet is scheduled to start at 5:30 PM.
