Throughout the pandemic, the City of Indianola has been able to provide services and perform normal duties despite buildings being closed to the public and many city employees working from home. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News when he looks back on the year of 2020, he will remember the planning and foresight from city staff that went above and beyond to keep the city functioning.

“I could go on and on about our accomplishments as a city, we had an exceptional year. As much as I don’t want to talk about COVID-19, the reality is this is what 2020 will be known for. But I think one of our biggest accomplishments has been our staff, our community, and our organization planned for and executed our plan to deal with the pandemic.”

Waller also said he appreciates the community working with the city and being patient during the pandemic, and like everyone awaits a return to normal.
