Hearthstone, A Ministry of Wesleylife in Pella, is working hard to bounce back from a challenging year in 2020.

Executive Director Nancy Hamilton says the COVID-19 pandemic has transformed their campuses as it has at retirement communities and long-term care facilities across the entire state.

Just before the onset of the pandemic, Hamilton says Hearthstone endured a lost of just over one-third of their local capacity when a water-main break flooded Jefferson Place in February 2020.

WesleyLife has announced a campaign to generate $2 million to help fund a 36-suite addition to The Cottages. So far, Hamilton says more than one million dollars have been raised through a $2 million fundraising effort to finish funding the total cost of the $9 million renovation and construction initiative.

“We are honored to be supported by individuals who not only are leaders in the greater community, but who have long believed in the mission of Hearthstone and of WesleyLife,” Nancy Hamilton, Executive Director of Hearthstone, said. “We are grateful for their willingness to strengthen and inform our efforts as we continue to serve those who have placed their trust in us.”
