The Knoxville Wrestling and Bowling Squads will both be in Osceola tonight to battle Clarke. The wrestlers are coming off a 9th place finish at the Centerville Invitational. The Panthers will take on a Clarke Squad who is 6-6 in dual meets this season. Knoxville Coach Doug Hatch tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he feels good about his team knowing that his coaching staff has been keeping an eye on everyone.

Hatch:
“We’ve got Coach Westfall, Coach Ryder, both Spaurs, Cody Ray Smith in there helping and there’s a lot of eyes with my assistant coaches and that helps a ton.”

Tonight’s dual will begin at 5:30 with JV matches. Meanwhile, at Alley Bowl in Osceola, the Knoxville Bowlers–who defeated Pella on Saturday will try to keep momentum going with a meeting at Clarke. Panthers’ Bowling Coach Shaun Renard tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he is looking at the early part of the meet and how it goes for his players. He says the first couple of balls usually sets the tone for the meet.

Renard:
“See if they have the ability to retain what they’ve learned and how they’re making quick adjustments to read the lanes and just see how the first couple of balls go for the kids.”

The Panthers have a busy week ahead, as after today, Knoxville will host Oskaloosa on Saturday.
