Knoxville Panthers Coaches vs. Cancer is tomorrow. Due to COVID-19, many of the usual in-person events are not taking place. Jim Uitermarkt explains that most of the activities of the day will be in late afternoon and evening.

“All of the in-person activities and fundraisers on our normal Saturday Coaches vs. Cancer have had to be cancelled or run in a different way. There’s nothing going on at the high school in the morning or early afternoon. We did add JV games this year since we couldn’t have our traditional alumni games this year. The JV girls game will start at 3:30 at the high school, followed by the JV boys at around 4:45. The varsity girls game should start somewhere between 6:15 and 6:30. We will have our ceremony between the varsity girls and varsity boys games.”

The ceremony between games will recognize cancer survivors and this fall’s cancer run participants. KNIA/KRLS will air live updates throughout the day.
