The Trojans’ girls basketball team, who have won three of their last five games, have a tall task going up against #4 in Class 3A Des Moines Christian, who were upset in their last game to Pella. Pleasantville is coming off a heartbreaking loss to Earlham Tuesday night. Coach Jeff Cook tells KNIA Sports that it is going to take their best effort to knock off one of the best teams in the state.
“Well we are going to have to shoot the ball as well as we can shoot it, play really good defense and catch them on a cold night. They have four or five really good 3-point shooters along with a big girl inside and a point guard that cuts you to death.”
The Trojans’ boys are in a rough stretch, losing six of their last seven games, including back-to-back close losses to Interstate-35 and Earlham. They will go up against #3 in Class 2A Des Moines Christian, who is coming in with the best record in the West Central Conference.
The basketball doubleheader will be broadcast on the KNIA3 stream at kniakrls.com with the girls’ game starting at 6:15 PM. Alex Koch will be on the call.
