Knoxville High School’s Best in the Nation Coaches vs. Cancer event raised $43,614 as of the beginning of the girls-boys basketball doubleheader vs. Chariton Saturday evening. All proceeds go toward the American Cancer Society. There are still additional funds to count from an online auction, other donations, and from collections at the gates from the games.

In 2020, more than $55,000 was raised, making it the top fundraiser in the country — and for 9 of the past 10 years. Prior to 2021, more than $628,000 has been raised in the 12 years of the fundraising event organized by the Knoxville girls basketball team and Jim and Angie Uitermarkt.
