The Knoxville Optimist Club is sponsoring an essay contest in conjunction with Iowa District Optimists. Craig Kelley with the organization tells KNIA/KRLS News that the theme of the essay is “Reaching your Dreams by Choosing Optimism.” All Knoxville High School students are eligible to enter the contest.

The winner of the Knoxville contest will win a $250 scholarship, and will have their essay submitted to the Iowa District Optimists statewide contest, with a chance to win a $2,500 scholarship.

Those wishing to enter the contest should contact either Craig Kelley or Laura Carlson to receive an entry form and rules. The entry deadline is February 14th.
