The Twin Cedars boys played their sixth game in eight days Saturday and the second against Diagonal on the road. The outcome was the Sabers’ second loss to the Maroons 39-35 in the opening round of the Bluegrass Conference tournament. Twin Cedars’ Devin Arkema had 13 points and Jace Nichols added another 11.

Head Coach Blake McWilliams says that his squad played solid defense, but struggled to score in the second half.

The Sabers will now play in the consolation side of the tournament bracket as they host Orient-Macksburg on Monday at 7:30. The Twin Cedars girls will play their first game of the tournament Monday at 6:00 against Moravia at Melcher-Dallas.
