HIRTA Public Transit is now requiring all riders to wear a mask while using its services, effective immediately. This requirement is in response to the recent executive order signed by President Biden. The business falls under a section of the order which requires masks to be worn in all forms of public transportation. Previously, masks only were encouraged. Drivers will continue mask usage and other steps to keep everyone safe.

HIRTA Public Transit operates on weekdays in Marion, Warren and Jasper counties, and provides transportation locally and to and from the Des Moines and Ames areas.
