Pella Historical Society and Museums is in winter “hibernation” as they get ready for spring and Tulip Time.

Ahead of their reopening date on March 22nd, Executive Director Valerie Van Kooten says they are preparing for the completion of renovations to the Boyhood Home of Wyatt Earp.

“This is has been two years of planning, and we’re working with a design exhibit museum team in Montreal that has put together an exhibit for us called the Wyatt Earp Experience, about how a boy who grew up in a little Dutch town in the 1850s and 60s ended up as a famous lawman out west, and it’s a story only we can tell — no one else can tell that.”

When the Historical Village and Scholte House reopen this spring, Van Kooten expects to have similar distancing guidelines and capacity restrictions to what they had in place after reopening in July of 2020.
