Travel has improved, but some spots will still be hard to navigate into the afternoon and evening. Caution should still be used on most area highways, and plows should be given plenty of space to work, especially as snow drifting will continue today.

Some totals may vary because of drifting snow and different bands of heavier precipitation common in winter storms. According to the National Weather Service:
“Take your measurements at a location where drifting does not usually occur. If you have snow drifts, then simply take measurements in several spots away from large drifts. Calculate the average of these measurements.”
