The Iowa DOT reports travel is NOT advised on:
– Highway 163 from Otley to Des Moines
– Highway 5 from the 92 Interchange west of Knoxville, through Pleasantville, to Highway 65 north of Carlisle
– Highway 14 from Monroe to Newton
– Highway 65/69 from Indianola to Des Moines

A “travel not advised” designation from the Iowa DOT means highway conditions are extremely dangerous to travel, due to a combination of snow, ice, and winds. Plows are out trying to clear roadways that make take several hours to make safe to travel.
