The Twin Cedars boys basketball team went nearly a month without any games due to a player testing positive for COVID-19, but now that they are back on the floor, their mindset is to win some more games.

In a conversation with seniors Jace Nichols, Kade Dunkin, and Brett Sedlock, the trio share how the hiatus affected the team and what their next steps are.

“It was pretty until we hit COVID. Quarantine slowed us down a little bit,” said Nichols.

“Like Jace said, quarantine shut us down a while. We came back and were a little lethargic the next couple games. We lost two winnable games. Then we got two wins on the road, so we’re looking for a third,” said Dunkin.

“I have to agree with them, too. It felt like a slow start back from COVID and I think we’re starting to get our groove back a little bit and go win some games,” said Sedlock.

The Sabers boys will host Orient-Macksburg Wednesday at 7:30 in the Bluegrass Conference tournament’s consolation bracket. The Sabers girls will play Moravia at Melcher-Dallas Wednesday starting at 6:00.
