Both Melcher-Dallas teams have clinched berths to the Bluegrass Conference Tournament Semifinals with victories. The Saints boys edged out Lamoni with a 51-50 victory, while the girls routed Seymour 57-33.

 

The Saints’ boys won a back-and-forth game that went all the way down to the end of the game. The Krpan twins combined to score 31 points as Ryan scored 18 and Steven scored 13 in the victory. Lane VanderLinden was third on the team in scoring with 12. The Saints have advanced to the Tournament Semifinals where they will play Moravia. The game will take place at Orient-Macksburg Friday and will tip off at 7:30 PM.

 

The Saints’ girls held Seymour under 40 points for the second time this season as they moved on to the tournament semifinals. Hailey Hoch and Kynser Reed tied for the team lead with 15 points apiece. Melcher-Dallas also got 15 rebounds from Grace Overgaard and 12 from Riley Enfield.

 

After the Saints’ girls win, they will travel to Orient-Macksburg for their conference semifinal matchup against Murray. Melcher-Dallas beat the Mustangs twice in the regular season, allowing 35 points or less in both games, including a 44-34 overtime victory January 12th. 

 

The semifinal game will tip off at Orient-Macksburg at 6:00 PM.
