The Twin Cedars boys basketball team had a busy run since their return to play following a COVID-19 incident. In total, they played eight games in 13 days from January 16th to the 28th. This includes the Bluegrass Conference tournament, where they were forced to play on the consolation side of the bracket.

The Sabers opened with a four point loss to Diagonal, followed by home wins against Orient-Macksburg and Molton-Udell. As the Sabers now have a few days off, Head Coach Blake McWilliams that the schedule was rough, but closing out with a couple wins feels good for his program.

“Going into it, we had a long week. We played six games in eight days. In that first game, you like to win as many as you can. I think our legs ran out on us. We didn’t have the energy we needed to win in that first one. It’s good to come back and get two wins out of it, even though it was in the consolation bracket. Any time you get a win, it’s a good thing. We’ll take both of those that we got this week.”

Twin Cedars returns to action Monday as they host Hartwick-Ladora-Victor as part of their senior night starting at 6:00.
