Pleasantville’s basketball teams each got wins Saturday as the boys knocked off Clarke, 67-45, while the girls routed Colfax-Mingo 65-29.
The Trojans’ boys broke their four-game losing streak thanks to a 22-point night from Mason Scheve. The win puts the Trojans at 5-9 on the season and was their first win since January 11 at Ogden. Pleasantville’s boys will be back in action Monday night for a West Central Conference matchup at Earlham. The last time those two teams met, the Trojans blew a ten-point lead with five minutes left to lose 57-51.
Pleasantville’s girls got back to .500 with a statement victory over Colfax-Mingo. The Trojans got balanced scoring all around as four players scored more than double figures. Malorie McKinney led the way with 18 points. Breanna Benge had 14, Azell Smith had 12, and Rachel Harvey had 11 in the victory.
The Trojans’ girls will be back in action Tuesday as they travel to Interstate-35 as part of a West Central girls-boys doubleheader. The girls’ game is scheduled to tip-off at 6:00 PM.
