Residents can take home a little piece of the Pella Public Library this February and transform it into a bookmark. Remnants of the new fabric used to reupholster the library’s windmill cushions are now part of Take and Make Kits, which include materials for embellishing a bookmark with decorative stitching. Each kit includes a rectangular piece of upholstery fabric, an iron-on backing, a variety of thread and directions. The library’s Facebook page will have examples and tips for this project throughout February as part of National Embroidery Month. Winter-themed stitching kits are also available at the library’s front desk. Call 641-628-4268 if you have questions about these opportunities.
