The Indianola City Council and Warren County Board of Supervisors approved a memorandum of understanding regarding storm sewer repair on the downtown Indianola square at their most recent meetings. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News during the Warren County Justice Center construction, and the planning process for the Square Streetscape Project, a collapsed storm sewer was found that could inhibit further construction.
“This is going to be a temporary repair that we are working together on, then it’s going to be completely fixed once we go through the streetscape project later this year. We wanted to do it now so when the snow starts to thaw and we have spring rains, just making sure that the water is being conveyed property and not damaging the work done on the county site.”
Waller also said the construction will close down a portion of the square during that time frame. For more information, tune in to today’s Let’s Talk Indianola.
