indianola-3

One of the themes for the Indianola girls basketball team this season has been passing up a decent shot in favor of a better shot for a teammate. The Indians are at the top of the Little Hawkeye Conference for assists as a team with 225, averaging just under 13 per game, and are also on top for three-pointers made on the season with 146. Indians head coach Jeff Janssen tells KNIA Sports his team’s chemistry is making them get better and better.

“A year ago, a month ago, maybe even a couple weeks ago we would have settled for three point shots. We would have settled for the first ok look, and we are not settling for the first great look. This is what we need to do, against teams like Grinnell, against Oskaloosa, against everybody. It’s nice we are making the right plays.”

The Indians are 14-4 on the season, and will travel to Oskaloosa on Friday.
