The Central College softball team is ranked 7th in the country in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association preseason poll.

The Dutch finished the COVID-shortened 2020 season with a 6-1 record and were ranked 8th in the final NFCA poll after finishing as runner-up in the prestigious leadoff classic.

East Texas Baptist is the preseason number one, coming off a 15-0 season in which they won the Leadoff.  No other American Rivers Conference teams are ranked in the top 25.

Central returns starters at seven of 10 positions, including Academic All-American center fielder Sara Tallman of Pella, who will become the first player in program history to play a fifth season.  She was granted an extra year of eligibility due to the abrupt end to last season.

The 2021 schedule has not yet been released as schools navigate pandemic related precautions and restrictions.
