Despite concerns of the impact of COVID-19, the City of Pella budget remains close to normal heading into the next fiscal year, according to City Administration.
The annual budget workshops in Pella will be held on Monday, February 15th, and Tuesday the 16th, where the city council will explore the next fiscal year and capital improvement plans up to five years ahead.
Assistant City Administrator Corey Goodenow says despite challenges related to the cancellation of Tulip Time and the impact of closures related to COVID-19, finances in the community have remained close to a typical year.
There are still several significant projects on the horizon, according to Goodenow, that have been in planning stages for the past few budget cycles, including decisions on the future of the Pella Community Center, infrastructure updates to the Oost Poort Alley, and continued planning for the Cole Commons beautification project on Oskaloosa Street.
