Pella Christian’s basketball teams have been swept in their last two doubleheaders – last Friday against Grinnell and Tuesday night against Dallas Center-Grimes.  Tonight, the Eagles look to get back on the winning track when they head to Newton.

It was Pella Christian running the broom when the two teams met nearly a month ago in Pella, with the girls picking up a 16-point victory and the boys winning by 20.  While both Cardinal teams are in the bottom third of the Little Hawkeye Conference standings, P.C. boys coach J.D. Boer says they’re not taking anyone in the league lightly.

“We played really well when we played them last time.  I was really proud of our effort that night.  They’re just a team that’s going to hang around with teams, they’ve always done that.  They slow the pace down and they’ve got some young players who are playing really well.  And we have to go over there.  Anytime you head on the road in the Little Hawkeye Conference you have to strap it on and be ready to play, and I expect our guys to do that.”
