Winter has a firm grasp on the region for the next several days, according to the Nation Weather Service.

After 1-3″ of snow fell across south central Iowa Saturday, an additional 1-4″ is possible through Monday evening. During that time, dangerous arctic air will dominate, with wind chills likely staying below zero between now and next Sunday, and dropping into the 10 to 20 below range in the overnight and early morning hours in some instances in the upcoming week.

Frostbite can occur in as little as 30 minutes in those conditions. Travel will likely be at least somewhat difficult, as snow is difficult to clear in colder conditions.
