Girl Scout cookie season has officially begun for local Girl Scout Troops, with additional contactless options to purchase cookies this year. Scout leader Jennifer Sedlock tells KNIA News some troops will be offering drive through cookie booths payable with cash or card, as well as booths set up at local stores such as the Indianola HyVee or Theisens. Sedlock also said each individual girl scout also has the capability of sending out a personal ordering link via email or social media so customers can choose to order online, which will then be delivered via porch/door drop off or direct shipping. Girl Scout cookie season runs through March 28th, and serves as the largest fundraiser of the year for troops to fund their summer activities. Each box costs $5.
