The Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad will host a new team on the schedule tonight. Martensdale-St. Mary’s from the Pride of Iowa Conference will visit the Panthers. Knoxville is coming off a challenging week going 2-1 and is looking to close out the regular season this week and gain momentum for next Saturday’s class 3A regional opener. Coach Jim Uitermarkt tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he would love to see fans at the game.

Uitermarkt:
“It was either that or no JV at all. Varsity at six so it’s going to be a quick night, and hopefully fans will come out. I know girls only is not great for attendance but hopefully they come out because the season is about over for the girls.”

Tip-off is scheduled for an early start as Martensdale-St. Mary’s has low numbers and requested that varsity play first. You can hear the action on 95.3 KNIA beginning at 5:45.
