Webb Shadle Memorial Library in Pleasantville has announced the completion of fundraising efforts for new carpet. Director JoEllen Glick tells KNIA/KRLS News that she’s thankful for the community’s support for a much needed renovation.
“We are so excited to announce that we officially have enough funds to purchase new carpet for the library. It’s because of all the generous donations we received from the community. We are excited for the months to come where we will do this renovation project, and it’ll make the library look fresh and new. Thanks to the community and all our library friends.”
Funds were partially raised by the “Show You Care, Buy a Square” initiative, which allowed anyone to purchase a square in the new carpet for $60, with either their name assigned to the square or assigned in honor of someone else. Glick says installation is scheduled to begin in March. This will replace the original carpet that was installed over 50 years ago.
