The Knoxville Public Library is the host of a traveling exhibit called “Amazing Iowa Women.” Director Roslin Thompson says this display features numerous women who made key contributions to Iowa.
“There are 28 banners, and they describe women who have made amazing contributions in the state of Iowa. They are created by Iowa woman artists. So we think that’s terrific. A lot of them are people from the past, but some are from now, who are making contributions to the state of Iowa.”
Included in the display is Knoxville native Dixie Gebhart, who designed the Iowa state flag. This exhibit will remain at the library through the end of March, which will coincide with Women’s History Month and the 100th anniversary of the Iowa flag. Hear more on today’s Let’s Talk Knoxville.
