The Marion County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday. They received presentations from staff of libraries in the county, and will make a decision regarding fiscal year funding for those libraries at the next meeting. They approved a special event application for the Knoxville Farmers Market to use the downtown square this summer. These will be held Tuesdays and Saturdays throughout the summer beginning May 22nd. They approved a Class C liquor license renewal for Slideways.

They made an amendment to the land use map on a parcel of land from Agricultural to Light Industrial, as well as a rezoning of property from agricultural to commercial. They cancelled outstanding county warrants and county treasurer checks. They received and filed the treasurer’s semi-annual report.

They awarded contracts for the resurfacing of 40th Ave. and the paving of HMA shoulders on Highway 14, and approved the extension of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act through the end of February. They also approved the maximum property tax levy for Fiscal Year 2022.

The next Marion County Board of Supervisors meeting will be February 23rd at 9:00 a.m.
