Both Melcher-Dallas teams had separate road games as the boys knocked off Wayne 65-46, but the girls lost to Cardinal 36-31.
The Saints’ boys notched their fifth consecutive win and ninth overall. The dynamic Krpan twins, Ryan and Steven, led the way for Melcher-Dallas as they combined to score 39 of the Saints’ 65 points, with 27 and 12, respectively. A strong fourth quarter from the Saints was the difference as they outscored the Falcons 21-8. The win puts Melcher-Dallas at 9-8 on the season.
The Saints’ girls’ struggles continue, losing their seventh consecutive game. Melcher-Dallas got a double-double from Senior Kynser Reed in her final regular season game as she notched 19 points and 15 rebounds against the Comets. Brooklyn Metz was second on the team in scoring with ten points. Melcher-Dallas finishes the season with an 8-10 record overall.
The Saints’ girls will play in their first playoff game at Martensdale-St. Mary’s Thursday at 7:00 PM. Melcher-Dallas’ boys will have one more regular season game Friday night as they travel to Sigourney for a non conference showdown at 6:00 PM.
