Despite the cancellation of many of their competitive performances this winter, Pella’s well-regarded Jazz I ensemble is celebrating the opportunity to play music between now and the end of the school year. Director of Pella Jazz Daemon Place says all three of their ensembles had strong scores at the recent Iowa High School Music Association State Festival. He says the band will have several performances coming up, including at the 86th Tulip Time after their 2020 performance at the festival was cancelled due to COVID-19, and additional concerts yet to be scheduled.
