Congresswoman Cindy Axne and the US House of Representatives are currently working on COVID-19 relief bills, and a tax deductibility bill for 2020 taxes. Congresswoman Axne tells KNIA News one of the biggest things she is pushing for is finding relief for those who lost their jobs during the pandemic.
“I’ve put together my UI Tax Deductibility Bill. For those folks who received unemployment insurance benefits in 2020, they will be able to write off the first $10,200 of that unemployment insurance they received and not get a tax bill on that. So I’m hoping we can get that put into the bill moving forward, because I can’t think of a worse time to have folk paying taxes when they don’t even have a job.”
To listen to the full interview, Congresswoman Axne will be featured on an upcoming In Depth with Dr. Bob Leonard.
