Registration for the 2021-2022 school year at Knoxville Community Schools will soon be open. Typically held in July, the school board decided to experiment by opening it early. Superintendent Cassi Pearson says that fees will mostly stay the same, but that meal prices will slightly increase.
“We are expecting to open our school registration in the next few weeks, which is unusual for us. We think people would like to check that off their to-do list. Our fees are actually going to stay the same or be cheaper for our software fees. We went up slightly in our meal prices. Part of that is that we don’t know what the cost of food will be next year. We are so grateful that this entire school year, all of our students have gotten a free breakfast and lunch due to the federal program in light of the pandemic. This has kind of been a freebie year, so we hope parents won’t feel badly that we’re raising prices by a few pennies for next year.”
