Pella finished the 2020-21 regular season on a surge as they dominated Mt. Pleasant 81-49 Tuesday night in a non-conference game.

The No. 5 in Class 3A Dutch exploded in the 3rd quarter with a 29-9 margin over the Panthers, starting the continuous clock mercy rule for the final 12 minutes of action to head into the playoffs on a four game winning streak and their average margin of victory approaching 30 points per contest in their last five victories.

Pella had four players score in double figures, including 25 from Grant Nelson, 17 from Noah Allen, 13 from Karl Miller, and 12 from Parker Elder.

Pella’s 11-10 girls hit the road to Winterset to begin the Class 4A Regional Playoffs tonight. The 13-8 Huskies will be a tough test out of the talented and deep Raccoon River Conference. The Huskies are paced by sophomore Jena Young and her 16.2 points per game, but are a team that leans more heavily on their defense, which is 9th best among Class 4A teams at giving up 41.3 points per contest.
