The Pella Christian boys basketball team is seeking back-to-back trips to the state tournament and a 16th appearance in school history, and that potential journey begins tonight in the final home sporting event inside the gymnasium at Eagle Lane of the 2020-21 academic year.

The 11-11 Eagles welcome 11-9 Cardinal for the Class 2A District semifinals, after the Comets won at the buzzer over Williamsburg Monday. The matchup is an on-paper mismatch in size and rebounding, as P.C. holds an 11 board per game advantage over Cardinal. Both schools met seven years ago in the only meeting in the Varsity Bound/Quikstats Era, which was a 70-34 win for the 2014 Eagles.
