Vermeer Corporation announced that Welder Wesley Heuschkel is completing his registered apprenticeship program through Vermeer and the Career Academy of Pella. Vermeer added that Heuschkel is joining the team full time with manager Dee Wheeldon. The Vermeer Apprenticeship Program offers high school students the unique advantage to learn while they earn with one-on-one instruction from dedicated mentors. Weld apprentices at Vermeer start full-time the summer before their senior year and work part-time throughout the school year. After graduation, they work full-time until they have at least 2,000 hours under their belt and are proficient in a list of competencies from the Department of Labor.
