The Indianola City Council gave direction to city staff at their most recent meeting to explore civic funding requests from local non-profit entities that support the community. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News many groups such as The Helping Hand of Warren County, Heal House, National Balloon Classic, the Warren County Fair, and others all applied, and will be funded by the hotel/motel tax. Waller also said direction came down from the council to help fine tune the process for future budgets.
“The follow-up direction council gave was to work with the administrative and policy committee to help put some criteria and evaluation metrics in there so that as more civic groups apply there is some sort of scale they could rank them against rather than arbitrarily picking numbers to work within the budget.”
