The Mustang boys earned a bye and didn’t let it go to waste as they opened up postseason play with a home win over Woodward-Granger 42-29, as heard on the KRLS3 stream at kniakrls.com.

It was a low scoring game early as PCM trailed 7-6 at the end of the 1st and the game was tied at 22 through three quarters, but the Mustangs kicked it in gear and dropped 20 in the final frame to put the Hawks away for good.

Carson Vande Lune led the way with 12 points with Andrew Mitchell adding another 10. Not to be outdone, Durant Van Dyke had a whopping 14 rebounds as he put that 6’4” to good use.

At 11-10, the Mustangs are over .500 for the first time all season and are guaranteed another non losing season under Head Coach Fred Lorensen.

The Mustangs will be back in action Tuesday as they face Des Moines Christian with the location to be determined. The game can be heard on the KRLS3 stream at kniakrls.com.
