The Indianola girls basketball squad will look to replicate an early season result against the Lynx of Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln High School, however this time the season is on the line as they start their class 5A postseason journey. The #14 Indianola girls squad took down CB Lincoln 67-50 in a matchup in early December, where the Indians ended the first half with a 49-17 halftime lead. Indians head coach Jeff Janssen tells KNIA Sports his squad won’t be able to draw much from that earlier contest, as both teams have changed so much over the course of the season, so he would rather focus on themselves.
“Really we’ve been focusing on how we need to play. How are they going to try and slow us down and to defend us, but mostly it’s what do we need to do whether we are playing CB Lincoln, DCG, Norwalk, Johnston, whoever it may be. What do we need to do to be successful.”
The game tonight can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner and Rick Wilson on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage begins at 6:45pm, with tip-off scheduled for 7.
