The City of Knoxville has unveiled a new feature on its website to collect ideas from residents on city initiatives. Interim City Manager Heather Ussery says it’s an interactive experience, and the feature will allow city officials to implement ideas which are widely supported by the community.
“It’s a way for citizens to share ideas with our city through the website. There’s a few initiatives that are already listed, or they can suggest their own. They share ideas, can comment on other ideas and vote on them. We’ve already gotten a couple back, so we’ll reach out to those members. You have to create a profile so that we see the names that are suggesting these ideas. It helps us to implement some of those ideas. It’s a pretty neat feature to be able to share ideas with city officials.”
Residents can share ideas on community activities, economic development, housing, infrastructure, quality of life, and more. Learn more about this initiative and view the forum here.
