The Twin Cedars Girls basketball Squad made significant improvements this season. The Sabers, for starters, more than doubled their win total from a year ago, from five last season to 11 this year, and for a few games was above the .500 mark this season. While their season did not end how the Sabers would have liked, the final regular season game will go down as the game, if not the finish of the year. With time winding down, the Sabers trailed by five points and Coach Trent Verwers witnessed the comeback of the season.

Verwers:
“I told the girl in that time out, we need to get aggressive and if you foul so be it. Kisha Reed got the deflection and Brooke Roby got the game winning layup. It was one of those moments that they’ll remember for the rest of their lives and it was a great way to send the seniors out in their last home game.”

Two seniors will depart the program this season, Chloe Swank and Jenna Hastings. Verwers adds with the girls coming back next season, he expects to have a winning season and to go farther in the regional. Twin Cedars finished with an 11-11 record and tied for 3rd with a mark of 7-3 in the Bluegrass Conference.
