Two individuals were arrested following a pursuit this morning in Marion County. According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, police attempted to conduct a traffic stop for a speeding vehicle driven by Skylar Wickam of Knoxville at 5:30 a.m. The vehicle was registered to a Jocelyn Meinders of Pella, who had a warrant out of Marion County for providing false identification information, and Wickam had numerous outstanding warrants in Marion and Jasper Counties.

Police allege that Wickam did not stop, and a pursuit was initiated. Deputies pursued the vehicle eastbound on Highway G28 until Pella Police officers were able to deploy a tire deflation device, causing two of the vehicle’s tires to deflate. The chase ended near the intersection of Fifield Rd. and East 16th St. in Pella, where Wickam fled on foot. A foot chase ensued, during which Wickam is accused of discarding methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He then gained access to another vehicle in the Casey’s parking lot, at which time a Marion County Deputy deployed a taser and was able to take Wickam into custody.

Skyler Wickam has been arrested on the following charges:
Jasper County Warrants
– Eluding
– Interference with official acts
– Sex offender registration violation
– Possession of drug paraphernalia
Marion County Warrants
– Violation of parole
– Sex offender registration violation
Sex offender verification violation

And new charges:
Eluding, Speeding, Possession of Methamphetamine, 3rd Degree Burglary, Interference with official acts, and Sex Offender Registration Violation

Jocelyn Meinders has been arrested on her outstanding warrant for providing false identification information. An investigation into this matter is ongoing. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Pella Police Department and Pella Ambulance.
