Several area girls basketball players earned All-District recognition from the Iowa Girls Coaches Association.

In Class 2A, Allison Van Gorp of Pella Christian was selected to the southwest team. Van Gorp averaged 16.8 points per game – 14th best in Class 2A, 11.1 rebounds per contest – 8th best in the class, and tallied 38 blocks.

In Class 3A, Knoxville’s Maggie Wilkins was on the Southeast Team. She’s a two-time All-District honoree, and finished her career with the Panthers by eclipsing the 1,500 career point mark, and her 23.8 points per game was 2nd best among all 3A scorers this winter.

Lilli Baird of PCM earned All-District honors on the 3A Southwest Team. Baird averaged 11.2 points per contest this season.

In Class 4A, Pella’s Madison Naig was an All-District Southeast team selection. Naig averaged 14.6 points per game, top 30 among Class 4A individuals. She finished with 792 career points.

Bren Moritz of Norwalk was a 4A Central All-District honoree. Moritz tallied 29 blocked shots in 2020-21, 14th most in 4A, and averaged 15.4 points per game in her senior season (23rd among 4A athletes) and 6.9 rebounds per game (30th).

Kendall Clatt of Indianola was a 5A West All-District girls basketball selection. Clatt was one of the top three-point shooters in Class 5A, with 64 makes from deep this winter — which was 2nd most prior to the state tournament and her 41.6% conversion percentage was 4th best among athletes who took at least 75 shots from downtown this winter. She also averaged 13.9 points per game, 24th most in Class 5A, and her 6.6 rebounds per contest was 25th best.
